The temperature is far away from the dew point = dry conditions.

 We are in the midst of a high pressure system, no storms for us.

 The surface data indicates the lovely clear skies and wind direction coming from the southwest. On here it doesn't look like it is coming from the south very much, only slightly. However, these conditions are close to ideal weather-wise.

Tomorrow is supposed to be partly cloudy and 75. Perfect.

This weekend ended very well. Just as promised - the warm weather came today.

 Here is the surface map - you can see that the line of precipitation has moved to the east. We have had mostly clear skies here today.

Here is the jet stream - it seems to be doing some interesting things...a few swirling patterns. In the south there is a nice ridge.

Tomorrow should be nice with temperatures getting up to the low 70s for a high. The wind speed shouldn't be too high - nothing exceeding more than 10 mph.

The dew point is very close to the current temperature, and the humidity is high - resulting in the precipitation.

Here is the current surface conditions - as you can see there is a huge cold front extending across the U.S. The line of precipitation is directly behind that front. We are in a huge trough right now resulting from all of the cold air coming down and causing the warm air from the past few days to rise up, causing uplifting and heating the air to form precipitation.

Here you can see the pronounced dip in the jet stream, with the most intense winds over Minnesota today and tomorrow.

This terrible weather is supposed to last into the weekend. Clearer skies and warmer weather should be here by Sunday and into Monday.
